Hi, I would like to know if Active Directory keeps a history when user accounts were modified, I know I can add a column into AD users and groups which will tell me when an account was modified, but this gets overwritten on each new modification. Is there a log of when an account was modified? There is no auditing explicitly set, so I am looking for a backdoor log hidden somewhere in windows!

If you have not got auditing enabled then NO. If the auditing of account management is enabled then each such event is recorded in the security log
