Firefox  lost bookmarks


I was using Firefox version 1.5.0.1.0 when Windows XP froze so I shut it down by turning off the power.


When it restarted it performed error correction.  


But when I clicked on the Firefox icon it opened with all my bookmarks gone and all my prefrences under "options" reset to default.




I tried to search for the bookmarks through Windows XP search function by typing  "Bookmarks" but I did not recover the lost bookmarks.



How can recover the bookmarks

Hello Eaglek1,

Look in your bookmarks.html file in your profile folder.  Go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Appliation Data\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\lename> folder.  Look for bookmarks.html file.  Open it in a browser.

Check if you have another where bookmarks.html file is intact.  

If no joy, and you do not have a backup file, then the bookmarks are gone.
