How do you convert 196/256 bit MP3s to 128 bit MP3s?

Hi

Say you have a directory with hundreds of MP3s, each with various bitrates (128/196/256).
How do you convert all these MP3s with of course the least effort to 128 bitrate MP3s?

Thanks!

Solution: How do you convert 196/256 bit MP3s to 128 bit MP3s?

Look for a program called BeSweet - it is freeware - available here:

http://dspguru.notrace.dk/

You will need the BeSweet GUI and the BeSweet Client.  Place them both together in the same directory.  Click on the GUI and you will be asked to choose betwwen the Wizard or the BeSweet GUI - select Wizard.  Drag and Drop the files you wish to convert into the open window (no other way to get them there except drag&drop), be sure that Batch Processing has been selected - click next - On that screen select the bitrate and other info you want - continue on and let it run - will convert all of you files automatically after that point.  You will need the LameMP3 handler - available here:

http://www.trudyholler.com/pages/download_razorlame.html

choose *Lame*.zip  - unzip that also into your BeSweet Folder.  Extra note - On first go round, open the GUI and select LAME as the encoding method - there will be a box at the top which ask you to point where the LAME file is - it may pick it up since it is in the same directory - else just open and navigate.  Then close it and run your Wizard for the Batch process.

Hope this helps
